Key System Groups and Multicall Groups let multiple telephones share the same extension number. Incoming calls ring all of the idle stations, and the stations stop ringing when one member answers the call. Only one member of a Key System Group can use the line at one time; a Multicall group allows more than one group member to use the line at the same time.
When a member of a Key System Group answers a call, the line becomes busy (only one member can use the line at one time); however, when a member of a Multicall Group answers a call, the line becomes idle (all group members can use the line simultaneously).
When a member of a Key System Group places a call on Hold, the call can be retrieved by any member of the group. When a member of a Multicall Group places a call on Hold, the call can be retrieved only by the set that placed the call on Hold.
If a 2500 telephone, 5001 IP Phone, or 5201 IP Phone is included in a Key System Group, it must be the prime member.
If a 2500 telephone is included in a Multicall group, it must be the prime number.
A DTS trunk can be a key line appearance (see Trunk Select - Direct). 2500 telephones cannot be included in the same Key System Group as a DTS line.
5001 IP, 5201 IP and ONS telephones that appear as key lines on multiline sets cannot obtain dial tone while a call is on Hold.
When a Personal Ring Group (PRG) member belongs to a Multicall group, the PRG is not busy until all Multicall appearances of the member are busy. And when a member of a Multicall Group answers a call, the line becomes idle because all group members can use the line simultaneously.
Calling line ID display for key system line appearances is presented to all sets with an appearance of the line during ringing. Upon answer, CLID information is replaced with the key label on all but the answering set.
The following conditions apply to the Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines Timer:
It does not apply if the telephone is in ringing or dialing state.
The Caller ID is displayed for the configured duration or until the caller hangs up or is forwarded (whichever is shorter).
When lines are set as delay ring, the Caller ID may be displayed twice (once when the call comes in and once when the delay ring timer expires).
The 5560 IP Turret cannot be a member of a Multicall group even though it can be assigned a Multicall line key in the Multiline Set Keys form.
Depending on the activity status of the line, the line key LED indicator will either flash or remain solid. See Line Status: Multi-Color LED Indication for more information.
A SIP device cannot have the line appearances of other devices, or Broadcast Groups in the system.
Multicall key (programmed on an extension) is supported only on the MiVoice Business system on which the extension is programmed. Programming the same Multicall key on other MiVoice Business systems in a cluster is not supported.
If an user is currently active on one of their lines and they receive another call on another line, they will hear a short audible ring burst from the speaker. This is only available if the speaker is not in use, therefore, the burst is only heard if the user is on their handset or headset, it is not heard if they are handsfree on the speaker. This applies to all 69xx and 5xxx devices.

For headset users, there is a COS option, Headset Play In-Band Ring Burst, that can be enabled to play a tone through the headset, rather than a ring burst on the device speaker.
Enter a prime directory number and an interconnect number for each set in the following forms:
Multiline
Set Keys form
For non-prime members, program a Key System or Multicall key in the Complete the Directory Number (prime number) and Ring Type fields.
Enable ANI/DNIS/ISDN Calling/Called Number or ANI/ISDN Calling Number Only to display calling line identification for all calls on prime directory numbers and incoming calls on non-prime directory numbers
Enable Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines to display calling line identification for outgoing calls on non-prime directory numbers.
Set the Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines Timer to define the length of time that the Calling Line ID is displayed when a call is waiting on a non-prime line.
Enable the Privacy Released option to allow any other set user in the same key system group to enter a conversation that is in progress on a key line.
Enable the Display DNIS on Key Label option to display DNIS instead of call party ID information (the default) on float key labels.
Supported on all devices.
